The euro (symbol: €; plural euros) is the currency of the European Economic and Monetary Union. The official ISO code of the currency is EUR.
In 1992 in Maastricht, the Netherlands decided definitively introduction of the euro. This would equal the value of 1 euro to 1 ECU ( 'European Currency Unit' or 'European unit ").

The coins and banknotes were introduced on January 1, 2002 simultaneously in 12 countries of the European Union, and in Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City, the largest monetary changeover operation at all times.
The euro has 15 "normal" appearances: 7 banknotes 8 coins.

                                                      1 euro cent

                                                      2 euro cents

                                                     5 euro cents

                                                     10 euro cents

                                                     20 euro cents

                                                    50 euro cents

                                                            1 euro

                                                           2 euros

The coins have a European side. There are three different designs that show maps of Europe, with the 12 stars of the European Union in the background.
In addition, each euro country is free to choose his own symbols and text on the national side of euro coins to place. The Netherlands Euro has the face of Queen Beatrix. In the Netherlands the use of the 1 and 2 cent coins, since 2004 by allowing the rounding to 5 cents, significantly reduced. In most stores, amounts since then rounded to the nearest 5 cents.

About this Blog

I make this blog for foreigners who will live in this country, THE NETHERLANDS. Foreigners who are engaged or married they have to learn a lot of things about their new home like the culture, architectures, landscape, government, dikes etc. Especially the Dutch language which is very important in their social life. It is very difficult if they cannot communicate with other people. Most people speak Dutch, only few speaks English.
For visitors and readers, this will give you an idea what this country is. This small country ranks no. 5 in the economic stability in EUROPE. Their architectures like palaces, castles, dikes, ports (air and sea) are amazing.
Their culture is very interesting.
