Pic of the WeeK---My Collections of Wedgwood Dinner Plates and Sets

One of my blogger friends, Judy of JUDY H-J'S THOUGHTS - A TWINLESS TWIN visits my blogs regularly. Judy, thank you so much for leaving comments! Her recent post is about collections of her favourite bird figurines. I just want to share my collections too.
These wedgwood dinnerware are still in my homeland. I really wanted to have them shipped soon. The shipping is very expensive. In 2004 we moved to the Philippines. We brought everything we had. These wedgwood sets are still packed in plastic boxes. When we were in the Philippines we only used the plates. Some of my friends told me if I could just give these things to my family. "NO" because these things have valuable meaning to me. Some of these wedgwood plates and cups were given to me during my birthdays as a gift. They are priceless to me.
I do not know if I can still buy these designs. I have been surfing on the net but I did not see any of these designs. I have to find first a shipping company which charges a reasonable price before buying new ones. Hope to have them soon!

Why Do Students Quit School?

There are many reasons why students stop schooling. This graphic below shows the reasons why students drop out of school.

Going to university is very expensive that is why students tend to work part-time to pay the tuition fees and miscellaneous. But when they find working is better than studying so they choose to stop schooling.
Another reason maybe is that the standard of education is too high. The students cannot maintain the required ratings and that is why some are disqualified to study further.
Since going to university is expensive many students prefer to study at home which is very good. Studying at home is a very good alternative in pursuing their dreamed career.

Holland's Got Talent Winner 2011

During the exciting and sensational liveshow,  Aliyah got 35% public's votes and was the winner of Holland's Got Talent 2011.

The task of the judges Gordon, Patricia Paay and Dan Karaty that night was only to give advice to the audience whom to vote for.
There were three possible winners. It was very difficult to choose. The competition was very close. The top three performers were very good. Patricia Paay invited the Pop'arazzi Crew and acrobat Boy to her jubilee party on October 15 and Dan Karaty for the time with a teardrop watching the performance of the Pop'arazzi Crew. The act was really impressive and superb. The dance act landed on the 4th place.
The Top Three
The 11-yr. old Aliyah who sung the greatest song of Whitney Housten (I Who Got Nothing) was the night's favourite performer. Aliyah received a brand new car. "How could Aliyah used it she did not have a license yet. She has to wait for 7 yrs. to ride it. :) ". The splendid act of the acrobat Boy received a big support from the audience. Opera Familia, who have amazing voice got the third place. The judges and audience were very satisfied of the result.

It is very nice to know that a new star is born. Congratulations! Aliyah.
It was very difficult to choose because the contestants had different talents. Maybe next time  they could narrow down the criteria that there will be no singing and dancing contestants because there are already Ex Factor, My Name Is... and The Voice of Holland for singing contest; I THINK YOU CAN DANCE for the dance contest. You cannot create a good, valid and fair criteria if the contestants show different performances/acts.
Pop'arazzi Crew for me, the best dancers ever. But anyway, CONGRATULATIONS! to the top three.

What Is A Dutch Door?

A Dutch door (American English) or stable door (British English) or half door (Hiberno English) is a door divided horizontally in such a fashion that the bottom half may remain shut while the top half opens. The initial purpose of this door was to keep animals out of farmhouses, while allowing light and air to filter through the open top. Later modifications included doors where both halves can be closed or opened together.

Dutch doors are often used in North-American passenger train cars to allow crewmen to safely interact with other employees not aboard their trains (or simply to visually inspect their own train) without risking falling from the train. Recent operating rules changes in Canada have rendered the dutch-doors obsolete, although legacy rolling stock retains the doors.

About this Blog

I make this blog for foreigners who will live in this country, THE NETHERLANDS. Foreigners who are engaged or married they have to learn a lot of things about their new home like the culture, architectures, landscape, government, dikes etc. Especially the Dutch language which is very important in their social life. It is very difficult if they cannot communicate with other people. Most people speak Dutch, only few speaks English.
For visitors and readers, this will give you an idea what this country is. This small country ranks no. 5 in the economic stability in EUROPE. Their architectures like palaces, castles, dikes, ports (air and sea) are amazing.
Their culture is very interesting.
