The Dutch Football Team Lost in the Finals

`The dream is over, the Netherlands did not become world champions," Eventhough our Dutch Football Team had lost the finals of the Fifa World Cup 2010, the Dutch people are still very proud of what our Dutch Football Team had presented. Being landed in the second place among the 32 countries who participated the competition was not bad. Imagine we are the smallest country among the 32 countries but still we showed the world that we can beat the big ones.

Spain won their first world title after Andres Iniesta's 116th-minute strike broke the Netherlands' hearts. The reigning European champions have lifted the FIFA World Cup Trophy. Spain, winners of UEFA EURO 2008, were the first to accomplish this feat since West Germany won the 1974 world finals after conquering Europe in 1972.
Finals have gone into extra time, with 2006 and 2010 being the only time it has happened in consecutive FIFA World Cups. The other four deciders to feature extra time were in 1934, 1966, 1978 and 1994.

Bert van Marwijk, Netherlands coach
Obviously, we’re devastated by the result. We were down to ten men but almost made it to penalties. You have to say the better team won, but losing the World Cup Final is hard to take. Spain created far more chances, but Arjen Robben twice came within inches of scoring for us. If he had, I think we’d have been world champions.

Dirk Kuyt, Netherlands forward
It's so frustrating, I’m totally gutted. We were so close to winning the World Cup, and we had chances too. But you’ve got to take your chances. That aside, Spain are a terrific team.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Netherlands captain
We’ve come so close, and that makes it even more disappointing. We had to take one of our chances, and you never know what might have happened after that. We gave them too much space in midfield at times, but I’m still proud of this team. Having said that, once you’re in the Final, you want to win it.

Nigel de Jong, Netherlands midfielder
We’re incredibly disappointed. We gave it our best shot, but it wasn’t to be.

There is always next time, Guys. So, do your best for the UEFA EURO on 2012.
Still CONGRATULATIONS to the Dutch Football Team. YOU MUST BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES AND OF WHAT YOU DID!

The Fifa World Cup Trophy Travel Case

When you travel you need travel cases. When you transport expensive things you need an expensive travel case.
Luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton has put its mark on the World Cup ... specifically on the World Cup trophy's carrying case.

The case, which was ordered by FIFA in March and presented by company officials and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Commissioned by FIFA, the special order case, handmade by a single master craftsman in Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières workshop near Paris, has been meticulously designed to accommodate the celebrated Trophy, which measures 36 cm in height, weighs 6.175 kg and is made of solid 18-carat gold with a base of semi-precious malachite. Covered in Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram canvas, the travel case is fitted with the company’s signature brass lock and corners, and has a dark brown lining that complements the Trophy’s rich gold.
The case opens at the front and at the top to allow the Trophy to be removed easily when, at the final on 11th July in Johannesburg, watched by many millions of people across the globe, which will be presented to the most powerful football team in the world.
Wish our players a very BIG GOOD LUCK!

The Fifa World Cup Trophy

This trophy symbolizes unity, power and talent. If the team has energetic/powerful members, has football talent and is united then the team can easily win this trophy.
This is the Fifa World Cup Trophy.

The trophy is 36.8cm high, made of solid 18-carat gold, weighs 4,970 grams and the base contains two layers of semi-precious malachite. The trophy was designed by Silvio Gazzaniga, an Italian artist.
According to FIFA rules, the new trophy cannot be won outright, as the regulations state that it shall remain FIFA's own possession. The winners keep it until the next Soccer World Cup and receive a gold-plated replica (rather than the solid gold original).
The name of each winning team and the year they won is engraved, in English, on the base of the Trophy. There are enough spaces to last until the Soccer World Cup 2038.
Every team dreams that his team will be engraved in this sovereign trophy especially the Dutch Football team.

About this Blog

I make this blog for foreigners who will live in this country, THE NETHERLANDS. Foreigners who are engaged or married they have to learn a lot of things about their new home like the culture, architectures, landscape, government, dikes etc. Especially the Dutch language which is very important in their social life. It is very difficult if they cannot communicate with other people. Most people speak Dutch, only few speaks English.
For visitors and readers, this will give you an idea what this country is. This small country ranks no. 5 in the economic stability in EUROPE. Their architectures like palaces, castles, dikes, ports (air and sea) are amazing.
Their culture is very interesting.
