The Tropical Insects

When it is summertime we have problems with ants, mosquitoes, bees and other kinds of tropical insects. It is because of the hot weather. We cannot even sit outside during the night because of the mosquitoes. When my husband sees one mosquito inside the house, he will not sit down until he kills it. He knows that mosquitoes like him. I only see mosquitoes in the summer. We also have ants in the house. Few weeks ago I saw ants inside the house. They probably got in via the garden door. My husband hates ants. They are dirty and they bite. I am glad that they are not fire ants. The fire ants are dangerous. One effective way of killing fire ants is the use of fire ant baits. The bait is carried by workers back to the colony and fed to other ants, including the queen. There are a number of recommended products on the market to kill the fire ants.
Fire ants can be distinguished from other ants by their copper brown head and body with a darker abdomen. Fire ants often attack small animals and can kill them. If you are bitten by fire ants you need a special care to assure you are not infected. You must be treated.
We have no more ants inside the house because my husband put some ant baits in the kitchen and living room.

About this Blog

I make this blog for foreigners who will live in this country, THE NETHERLANDS. Foreigners who are engaged or married they have to learn a lot of things about their new home like the culture, architectures, landscape, government, dikes etc. Especially the Dutch language which is very important in their social life. It is very difficult if they cannot communicate with other people. Most people speak Dutch, only few speaks English.
For visitors and readers, this will give you an idea what this country is. This small country ranks no. 5 in the economic stability in EUROPE. Their architectures like palaces, castles, dikes, ports (air and sea) are amazing.
Their culture is very interesting.
