Our Collection

What are your collections?
Do you collect something?
Whenever my sister-in-law and her husband go on vacation, they usually send us postcard. Last year, they went to France, the other year to Spain. They sent us postcard. Sometimes it is funny because we did not receive the postcard yet and they were already back from their vacation.
I have a folder where I keep all the cards like birthday, invitation, Christmas, greetings, postcards etc. I have now 4 folder full of cards. I just want to keep them. I also teach my kids to keep their cards and collect something. Annabel keeps her cards. When Annabel has a homework, like making collages, I get my folder and find cards which I can use. Last December I recycled some of the old Christmas cards. I have made 20 Christmas cards out of the old ones. I cut the old cards, put some Christmas glitters and letters. Being creative has an advantage. I do not need to buy new Christmas cards. Dutch people appreciate hand-made cards than expensive cards from the store.
Kevin collects stickers. He has a sticker book where he can paste the collected stickers. It is almost full. I have to buy a new sticker book for his collection. It is to train the kids how to keep something.
Do your kids collect something like stamps, coins, stickers etc.?

About this Blog

I make this blog for foreigners who will live in this country, THE NETHERLANDS. Foreigners who are engaged or married they have to learn a lot of things about their new home like the culture, architectures, landscape, government, dikes etc. Especially the Dutch language which is very important in their social life. It is very difficult if they cannot communicate with other people. Most people speak Dutch, only few speaks English.
For visitors and readers, this will give you an idea what this country is. This small country ranks no. 5 in the economic stability in EUROPE. Their architectures like palaces, castles, dikes, ports (air and sea) are amazing.
Their culture is very interesting.
